Our History
Prior to 1985,  the area of North-Central California possessed little
instruction and training for individuals hopeful for a career in the trucking
industry. Responding to this need led the owners of Truck Driving
Academy to open on January 1, 1985 in Sacramento, CA. Both Charles
J. Grant and Manuel Sequeira, officers and owners of this institution,
have extensive backgrounds in trucking and related industries.

The main campus was originally housed at 5711 Florin-Perkins Road,
Sacramento, CA in a suite that consisted of 3 small rooms. Today, Truck
Driving Academy has grown to become a well established vocational
educational institution. In late 1990, the institution opened the campus
located in Fresno, California. It was the intent of the owners to provide
quality instruction throughout the entire state of California. During the fall
of 1997, Truck Driving Academy decided that the San Joaquin Valley
would be the future home of our third campus, centrally located in
Modesto, California. Following soon after, satellite campuses were
opened in Marysville, CA, Tulare, CA and most recently in Fontana, CA.

In 2003 it was decided to add the Bus Driver Training program and
Over The Road Truck Driver Training to our schedule of classes,
diversifying our programs now to cover all aspects of the transportation
industry. All over-the-road trucking companies provide additional training
on new drivers they employ. Many of the companies we have worked
with over the years, have now established a ”driver finishing program”
and therefore, decided to offer the OTR program designed for those
students who have their Class A permit and desire to work in the over-
the-road aspect of the trucking industry.
Although we have grown significantly over the past 20 years, our
philosophy continues to remain the same; to provide quality, personal
training to individuals seeking a career in the transportation industry.
